Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans ensuring compliance with federal regulations and state statutes
- Manage participant accounts, benefit calculations, and retirement eligibility determinations
- Develop and implement strategic plan improvements to enhance retirement security
- Conduct audits and financial analyses to ensure plan solvency and accuracy
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams on benefits integration and reporting
- Provide expert guidance to employees and stakeholders on retirement planning
- Lead system implementations and process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or benefits management
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and state pension laws
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, NaviPlan)
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder engagement
- Experience with government budgeting and financial reporting systems
