Responsibilities
- Administer pension enrollment, disbursement, and adjustment processes for state employees
- Review compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Tennessee pension regulations
- Provide weekend phone/email support for pension inquiries and benefit calculations
- Maintain accurate member records in statewide pension databases
- Collaborate with financial analysts on quarterly fund performance reporting
- Prepare documentation for pension audits and legislative reviews
- Train weekend staff on pension policy updates and procedural changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits experience
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Millennium, Workday) and MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, 401(k) regulations, and state pension laws
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex retirement scenarios
- Valid Tennessee driver's license for occasional travel to regional offices
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
