Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including CSRS and FERS with strict adherence to 5 CFR Part 831 and 838
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivor claims with 99.7% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement eligibility and benefit options
- Collaborate with OPM and Treasury on policy implementation and regulatory updates
- Develop training materials for agency staff on pension administration best practices
- Utilize MAXIMUS and other federal systems for data management and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration or federal benefits experience
- Expert knowledge of federal retirement systems (CSRS/FERS) and TSP regulations
- Professional certification (e.g., NIPA, SHRM-SCP) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and federal benefits software platforms
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
- U.S. citizenship required for federal employment
