Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits, including calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Massachusetts state pension laws
- Develop and implement retirement plan policies and procedures
- Collaborate with government agencies to resolve pension-related inquiries and disputes
- Analyze financial data to assess plan solvency and recommend adjustments
- Prepare regulatory reports and actuarial documentation for audits
- Manage vendor relationships for pension administration systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or benefits management experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a)/403(b) regulations, and MA pension statutes
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Albridge)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Government/public sector experience highly valued
