Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans and retirement benefits according to OPM regulations
- Process retirement applications and ensure accurate benefit calculations
- Advise employees on retirement planning, TSP options, and survivor benefits
- Conduct audits of pension accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare compliance reports for federal oversight agencies
- Train HR personnel on pension plan updates and procedures
- Collaborate with legal teams on pension litigation support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Federal benefits certification (e.g., CEBS, CBP) preferred
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, TSP, and OPM regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Experience with weekly payroll processing systems
