Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans, including benefit calculations, eligibility verification, and retirement counseling
- Monitor compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and state pension statutes
- Analyze financial data to forecast pension liabilities and recommend investment strategies
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex retirement-related inquiries
- Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Develop and implement process improvements for pension administration efficiency
- Train staff on pension policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration or retirement benefits
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and state pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension management software (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and training
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment
