Responsibilities
- Administer and enforce Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) compliance requirements
- Conduct audits and investigations of pension plans to identify regulatory violations
- Provide technical guidance to employers, plan administrators, and beneficiaries
- Develop educational materials on pension plan governance and fiduciary responsibilities
- Analyze complex pension data to detect financial risks and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with legal teams on enforcement actions and litigation support
- Represent the department in stakeholder meetings and industry conferences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or employee benefits
- ERISA certification (CEBS) or comparable retirement credentials
- Advanced knowledge of IRS Form 5500, PBGC regulations, and DOL reporting requirements
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Benefit Systems, AdminServer)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to complex financial data
- Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations (29 CFR Part 2510)
