Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment, disbursements, and compliance documentation
- Analyze contribution data and calculate retirement benefits using specialized software
- Respond to weekend inquiries from state employees and retirees regarding pension plans
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure adherence to ERISA and IRS regulations
- Maintain accurate participant records and generate quarterly compliance reports
- Develop weekend training materials for HR partners on pension plan updates
- Coordinate with investment team to align pension fund strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or benefits experience
- Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Virginia retirement codes
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Benefitfocus, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Exceptional weekend shift availability (Saturday/Sunday 8am-4pm)
- Government/public sector experience preferred
