Responsibilities
- Manage and administer state pension plan portfolios including investment analysis and compliance reporting
- Process retirement applications and disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Develop financial models for pension sustainability projections
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Train state employees on retirement planning options
- Prepare quarterly performance reports for the Public Employees' Retirement Board
- Implement federal ERISA and state pension regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension administration or retirement planning experience
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) designation preferred
- Proficiency in pension software (e.g., Albridge, Millennium)
- Deep knowledge of IRS 401(a) and California Public Employees' Retirement System rules
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to obtain government security clearance
