Responsibilities
- Administer complex federal pension plans including CSRS, FERS, and TSP with meticulous attention to detail
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, OPM guidelines, IRS requirements) and internal policies
- Analyze retirement benefit calculations, projections, and financial statements for accuracy
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees, retirees, and agency HR partners on retirement planning
- Conduct audits of pension plan components and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams on legislative updates and policy changes
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops on retirement benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in pension plan administration, benefits management, or retirement planning
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (CSRS/FERS), TSP, and associated regulations
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or CPA) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and data analysis tools
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience with federal procurement processes and compliance frameworks
