Responsibilities
- Analyze complex pension plan documents and ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, CSRS, FERS)
- Process retirement benefit applications with 99.8% accuracy and minimal turnaround time
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement planning, survivor benefits, and deductions
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve discrepancies in pension contributions and service credits
- Generate detailed benefit projections using specialized actuarial software
- Conduct audits of pension plan records to identify and rectify anomalies
- Train junior staff on pension administration protocols and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits
- Proficiency with federal systems (e.g., HRConnect, eOPF) and MS Office Suite
- Expert knowledge of CSRS/FERS regulations and OPM guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex legal documents
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Active federal security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CFP) highly desirable
