Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee state pension fund portfolios with $500M+ AUM
- Analyze fiscal data to ensure compliance with GASB and federal regulations
- Develop investment strategies balancing risk and returns for long-term sustainability
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for legislative review and public disclosure
- Collaborate with HR and Treasury departments on retirement benefit calculations
- Conduct audits of pension fund operations and recommend corrective actions
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives for pension system modernization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of government or pension fund financial analysis experience
- CPA, CFA, or SPPI certification required
- Expertise in pension accounting standards (GASB 67/68)
- Proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Bloomberg, BlackRock Aladdin)
- Strong knowledge of Virginia state budget processes and regulations
