Responsibilities
- Analyze pension enrollment data and contribution records for accuracy and compliance with NY State regulations
- Process retirement applications and calculate benefit payments using specialized software systems
- Respond to member inquiries regarding pension plans, eligibility requirements, and benefit options
- Assist in preparing quarterly reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update pension policies and procedures
- Support annual audits by compiling documentation and verifying financial calculations
- Participate in training programs to deepen knowledge of pension administration best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Basic understanding of government pension regulations preferred
- Customer service mindset with problem-solving aptitude
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for federal background clearance
