Responsibilities
- Process pension enrollment forms and documentation for new and existing public employees
- Assist with retirement benefit calculations and eligibility determinations
- Maintain accurate pension records using specialized financial software
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding retirement plans and benefits
- Prepare monthly pension contribution reports for city departments
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Participate in pension policy implementation and training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in pension administration or financial services
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial databases
- Strong attention to detail with ability to handle confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of government pension regulations (ERISA, CalPERS guidelines)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced public sector environment
