Responsibilities
- Manage federal pension plan administration including eligibility determinations and benefit calculations
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, TSP, OPM guidelines) and internal policies
- Develop educational materials and conduct training sessions for employees on retirement planning
- Analyze pension plan data to identify trends and recommend strategic improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on retirement policy development and implementation
- Respond to complex inquiries regarding pension benefits and retirement options
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure plan integrity and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or benefits management
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and OPM regulations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems and pension administration software
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication abilities for explaining complex retirement concepts
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
