Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans and Thrift Savings Programs (TSP) in strict compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations
- Conduct eligibility determinations, benefit calculations, and retirement counseling for federal employees
- Develop and implement pension plan audits to ensure fiduciary compliance and financial accuracy
- Collaborate with HR departments and legal counsel on pension-related policy updates and legislative changes
- Manage complex pension claims processing, including disability and survivor benefit cases
- Prepare comprehensive reports on pension fund status, demographic trends, and financial projections
- Lead training sessions for federal employees on retirement planning and pension benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or employee benefits management
- Expertise in federal pension regulations (ERISA, TSP, OPM guidelines)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and data analysis tools
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex federal regulations and apply them to real-world scenarios
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to financial precision
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
