Responsibilities
- Manage and administer pension plan documentation, enrollment processes, and benefit calculations
- Conduct eligibility verifications and compliance audits ensuring adherence to federal/state regulations
- Develop and maintain digital pension records using specialized government financial software
- Provide comprehensive retirement planning consultations to public sector employees
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for annual plan reviews and regulatory updates
- Generate detailed financial reports and projections for municipal leadership review
- Train department staff on pension policies and procedural updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or government finance experience
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft, Workday)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, GAAP, and Georgia pension regulations
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail in complex calculations
- Valid Georgia driver's license and clean background check
