Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for government employees including benefit calculations, distributions, and record maintenance
- Process retirement applications, claims, and eligibility verifications with precision
- Respond to complex participant inquiries via phone, email, and secure portals during overnight hours
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to federal/state regulations
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments on pension policy implementation
- Generate reports and analytics for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Maintain confidential records with 100% accuracy and HIPAA-compliant protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement services experience
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle) and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in complex calculations
- Excellent communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and Louisiana state pension regulations
- Ability to work independently during night shift hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA) preferred
