Responsibilities
- Administer state pension plans according to NC General Statutes and federal ERISA regulations
- Process retiree benefit calculations and distributions with 99.9% accuracy
- Conduct annual audits of pension fund investments and actuarial reports
- Develop educational materials for public employees on retirement planning
- Collaborate with investment advisors to optimize fund performance
- Ensure compliance with OMB and GASB reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years pension administration or government finance experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and NC retirement systems
- Advanced Excel skills with VBA experience
- Government security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Series 65 or 66 investment advisor certification preferred
