Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans in strict compliance with government regulations and City policies
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and distribution schedules
- Conduct audits and financial reviews to ensure plan solvency
- Provide expert guidance to retirees and employees on pension benefits
- Collaborate with auditors, legal teams, and financial institutions
- Develop comprehensive reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Implement policy updates reflecting legislative changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years of pension plan or benefits administration experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and Texas pension regulations
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel modeling
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) preferred
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written/verbal communication in English and Spanish
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
