Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for state employees, calculating benefits and processing retirement applications
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (ERISA, IRS codes) and Tennessee pension statutes
- Provide exceptional member support via phone/email for pension inquiries and documentation
- Analyze financial data for plan solvency projections and actuarial reporting
- Manage member records and update pension databases with accuracy
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Develop educational materials for retirement planning workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension/benefits administration experience
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and pension management software
- Deep understanding of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Tennessee pension laws
- Exceptional communication skills for complex benefit explanations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in remote environment
- Familiarity with weekend shift operations and availability for Sat-Sun 8am-4pm
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) designation preferred
