Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension plan contributions, distributions, and eligibility verifications for federal employees
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension records to ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, 5 U.S.C.)
- Respond to urgent overnight inquiries from participants and agencies regarding retirement benefits
- Generate and analyze complex pension reports for federal oversight agencies
- Collaborate with IT teams to maintain secure pension databases and systems
- Train agency representatives on pension plan policies and procedures
- Prepare documentation for federal audits and congressional inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension plan administration experience
- Federal benefits certification (e.g., CBP or CFP) strongly preferred
- Proficiency with federal systems (e.g., HRIS, OPM systems)
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, TSP, and federal retirement regulations
- Top-secret clearance or ability to obtain one
