Responsibilities
- Manage and process federal retirement pension applications and benefit adjustments
- Conduct complex eligibility verifications and benefit calculations under CSRS/FERS
- Ensure compliance with federal pension laws and OPM regulations
- Respond to urgent inquiries from federal employees during night shift hours
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams on pension plan modifications
- Maintain secure documentation and audit trails for pension records
- Train night shift support staff on pension procedures and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits
- Federal benefits certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CEBS) preferred
- Advanced knowledge of CSRS/FERS regulations and OPM guidelines
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Ability to work independently during night shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Active federal security clearance or ability to obtain one
