Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans ensuring compliance with OPM regulations and ERISA guidelines
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and survivor claims with precision
- Provide expert consultation to federal employees on retirement planning and pension options
- Conduct audits of pension records and resolve discrepancies in benefit distributions
- Collaborate with HR departments and legal counsel on pension policy implementations
- Maintain confidential employee records while adhering to strict data security protocols
- Generate comprehensive reports on pension fund status and participant demographics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration or federal benefits experience
- Advanced knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS/CSRS) and ERISA regulations
- Proficiency in SAP HR, Oracle HCM, or similar pension management software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in complex financial calculations
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid federal background clearance or ability to obtain one
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, ASPA) preferred
