Responsibilities
- Administer and manage state pension plans, ensuring accurate calculations of benefits and payouts.
- Process retirement applications and coordinate the transition of employees to pension status.
- Conduct thorough data analysis to ensure compliance with ERISA and Texas state laws.
- Provide expert guidance and customer service to retirees regarding their pension inquiries.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to update pension policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal audits and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or public sector HR.
- Strong working knowledge of retirement plan structures and applicable state/federal regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and personal data.
