Responsibilities
- Manage pension enrollment, disbursements, and compliance for 5,000+ state employees
- Analyze financial records to calculate accurate retirement benefits
- Develop educational materials on pension plans for diverse stakeholders
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance (ERISA, IRS)
- Lead quarterly pension system optimization projects
- Train new staff on pension administration protocols
- Respond to employee inquiries within 24-hour SLA
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Oracle HCM)
- FINRA Series 65 or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 414(h), and state pension regulations
- Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Texas residency required at time of hire
