Responsibilities
- Analyze state revenue streams and expenditure patterns for budget forecasting
- Prepare financial reports for legislative committees and executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with state procurement laws and federal grant requirements
- Develop dashboards tracking key fiscal performance metrics
- Collaborate with agency heads on strategic financial planning initiatives
- Conduct audits of state contracts and vendor agreements
- Advise on fiscal policy recommendations to the State Comptroller's office
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of government or public sector financial analysis experience
- CPA or CFA certification strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Tableau
- Deep knowledge of Texas state budget processes and GASB standards
- Exceptional written/verbal communication for stakeholder reporting
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with absolute discretion
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background clearance
