Responsibilities
- Manage pension fund administration including contributions, distributions, and account adjustments
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (ERISA, IRS codes) and pension policies
- Process retirement applications and conduct eligibility verifications
- Develop educational materials and conduct workshops for plan participants
- Analyze pension fund performance data and prepare regulatory reports
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, and investment teams on pension strategy
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding retirement benefits and plan provisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and California pension laws
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or similar designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder education and reporting
- Experience with public sector pension systems highly valued
