Responsibilities
- Administer pension plans for NC state employees and retirees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and NC state regulations
- Analyze fund performance and recommend investment strategies
- Process retiree benefit applications and resolve complex inquiries
- Collaborate with auditors and legal teams for regulatory reviews
- Develop educational materials for plan participants
- Manage pension fund data systems and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years pension administration or benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations
- Advanced Excel and database management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Government or public sector experience preferred
- Series 65/66 or CFA designation a plus
