Responsibilities
- Administer retirement plan benefits, including eligibility verification, contribution calculations, and distribution processing
- Provide expert member support via phone/email for pension inquiries and enrollment assistance
- Ensure strict compliance with federal (ERISA) and Tennessee retirement regulations
- Maintain accurate participant records in pension management systems
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Prepare monthly reconciliation reports for plan assets and contributions
- Train state employees on retirement plan options and enrollment procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Proficiency with pension management software (e.g., Empower, Benefitfocus)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Excellent communication abilities for complex benefit explanations
- FINRA Series 63 or 65 certification preferred
- Experience working with state government pension systems highly desirable
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
