Responsibilities
- Process pension applications, distributions, and adjustments with 100% accuracy
- Provide comprehensive retirement counseling to members via phone, email, and in-person appointments
- Collaborate with government agencies to verify employment history and calculate benefit entitlements
- Maintain detailed records in pension administration software while ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Prepare and deliver benefit statements and educational materials to members
- Assist in audits and compliance reviews by documenting processes and procedures
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve pension service delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement services experience
- Proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower, or similar)
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS regulations, and Minnesota state pension laws
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain complex financial concepts
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a weekend shift environment
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QPA, or CRC) preferred
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract compliance
