Responsibilities
- Administer pension enrollment, disbursements, and record maintenance for 50,000+ beneficiaries
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and NC State Retirement Systems regulations
- Respond to complex employee inquiries via phone/email during weekend shifts
- Analyze pension data using SQL and proprietary systems for benefit projections
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on policy implementations
- Conduct quarterly audits of pension accounts and report discrepancies
- Train new staff on pension administration protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration
- 3+ years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k)/403(b) regulations
- Proficiency in SQL and government financial systems (e.g., NCFAST)
- Valid NC government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for weekend client interactions
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or SHRM-CP preferred
