Responsibilities
- Administer pension plan benefits including eligibility verification, payment processing, and member communications
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Arizona state pension laws
- Conduct comprehensive pension plan audits and financial reporting for government oversight
- Provide expert guidance to retirees and beneficiaries regarding retirement options and claims
- Collaborate with finance and HR departments on pension fund investment strategies
- Develop and implement process improvements for weekend shift operations
- Maintain confidential member records with 100% data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience in government or regulated financial sector
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(k) regulations, and Arizona state pension statutes
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., Millennium, Ascensus)
- Certified Pension Administrator (CPA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail for complex financial calculations
- Strong communication abilities for explaining retirement concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
