Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans with precision and adherence to ERISA and OPM regulations
- Process retirement claims, benefit adjustments, and survivor benefits within SLA deadlines
- Conduct comprehensive plan audits and compliance reviews for federal agencies
- Develop educational materials for employees regarding retirement planning options
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to resolve complex pension disputes
- Maintain accurate digital records using SSA's proprietary pension management systems
- Provide weekend-shift customer support via phone and secure digital channels
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Advanced knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS)
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, ASPA) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and pension software
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 6am-2pm)
- Clearable federal background investigation required
