Responsibilities
- Manage pension benefit calculations and retirement applications for government employees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Arizona state pension laws
- Conduct member consultations via phone/video during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun)
- Process retiree enrollments, health insurance selections, and survivor benefit claims
- Generate benefit statements and educational materials for plan participants
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams on plan amendments and policy updates
- Utilize pension administration software (e.g., Benefitfocus, Oracle HCM)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- Proficiency in retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS 415/416)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex calculations
- Excellent communication skills for remote member interactions
- Experience with pension administration software or HRIS systems
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 8am-5pm MST)
- Familiarity with Arizona state retirement system preferred
