Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate and process monthly pension benefits based on employee service history and retirement formulas.
- Review and verify eligibility documentation for new and ongoing pension applications.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding pension status, payment discrepancies, and plan changes via phone and email.
- Maintain precise, up-to-date records of all pension transactions and member account statuses.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed reports for internal audits and regulatory compliance checks.
- Collaborate with the HR and Payroll departments to ensure seamless data integration and process improvements.
- Stay current on state and federal regulations regarding retirement plans and government benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Associate’s degree with significant experience is acceptable).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pension administration, payroll processing, or government benefits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
- Strong understanding of retirement plan regulations, ERISA guidelines, and government compliance standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect and correct errors in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with retirees and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office setting.
