Responsibilities
- Administer municipal pension plans ensuring compliance with ERISA and state regulations
- Process retirement applications and benefit calculations with 100% accuracy
- Conduct member education workshops on retirement planning and investment options
- Manage pension fund accounting and reporting for $500M+ portfolio
- Collaborate with finance team on annual funding valuations and actuarial studies
- Develop and maintain member communication materials and digital portals
- Advise city HR on pension policy impacts and legislative changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or related field
- 3+ years pension administration or retirement benefits experience
- Certified Public Pension Administrator (CPPA) designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension management software
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, Colorado Revised Statutes 24-51-101 et seq.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for complex benefit explanations
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
