Responsibilities
- Manage and process pension plan applications, including retirement calculations, benefit verifications, and final disbursements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to retirees and state employees regarding their pension inquiries.
- Ensure strict adherence to state pension regulations, internal compliance protocols, and privacy laws.
- Analyze pension data and performance metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with the Payroll and HR departments to resolve complex pension discrepancies and data errors.
- Handle weekend shift duties to ensure continuous support and service availability for our members.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation for all pension transactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- 3+ years of professional experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or government benefits processing.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven track record of high accuracy in financial calculations and data entry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-experts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including the option to work weekend shifts.
- Valid Driver's License (if required for occasional in-person office meetings).
