Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch appropriate police units and emergency services to incident locations
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incident details
- Provide critical information to officers and other agencies during ongoing operations
- Utilize multiple radio channels and phone systems simultaneously
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Valid California driver's license
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
