Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS resources with accuracy and urgency
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and specialized equipment
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional events
- Complete all required training modules to achieve certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (certified)
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Experience in high-pressure customer service preferred
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, databases)
- Must be able to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Virginia residency required upon certification
