Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and compassion
- Operate CAD systems and radio equipment to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incident reports
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during multi-jurisdictional operations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of application
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Proficient in typing (minimum 40 WPM) and computer literacy
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure during emergencies
- Must pass the TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator certification within first year
