Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch police/fire/EMS units
- Enter and maintain accurate data in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers during emergencies
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Virginia driver's license (no DUI/DWI within 5 years)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
