Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain continuous communication with field units.
- Enter and update incident information, status reports, and logs accurately and promptly.
- Provide critical information to callers to ensure their safety and guide emergency responders.
- Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during high-stress situations and emergencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- No felony convictions or domestic violence misdemeanors within the last 7 years.
