Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via telephone and radio systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes with precision and speed.
- Monitor and maintain accurate logs and records of all dispatch activities and calls for service.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to track unit status and resource allocation.
- Communicate effectively with field personnel, other agencies, and the general public.
- Provide critical information and support during high-stress situations to ensure officer and citizen safety.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid California Driver's License with a good driving record is mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software quickly.
