Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy
- Operate radio equipment and dispatch officers to incidents
- Enter and update information in CAD systems
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-pressure situations
- Provide critical instructions to callers until help arrives
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS)
- Document all communications and actions in compliance with protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be 18+ years old
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
