Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls from the public, providing critical first-aid instructions
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical responders using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incident reports
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and emergency notification platforms
- Perform data entry and maintain confidential records
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
- Collaborate with law enforcement partners during large-scale operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Michigan
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
