Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during disasters and emergencies
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers in crisis situations
- Operate radio systems and specialized emergency equipment
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college preferred)
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of appointment
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
