Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS resources
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and multi-line telephones during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation with precise accuracy
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during medical emergencies and crisis situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during active incidents and major events
- Monitor surveillance feeds and alarm systems for citywide safety threats
- Perform routine equipment checks and maintain communication readiness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments with composure
- Clear verbal/written communication skills with strong diction
- Basic computer proficiency and typing minimum 40 WPM
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
