Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Operate radio communications with field units during critical incidents
- Enter and maintain accurate data in law enforcement databases
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergency situations
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must pass background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure emergency environments
- Proficient in computer systems and typing (40+ WPM)
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
- Nevada driver's license with clean driving record
- Must complete departmental training academy within 6 months
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
