Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses including police, fire, and EMS units
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication systems
- Execute emergency protocols during crisis situations
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel
- Participate in continuous skills development programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to type 40+ words per minute (verified typing test required)
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and technical aptitude
- No criminal history beyond minor traffic violations
